So after the 2nd round of cortison, horse is still a bit lame (tip-toeing, transition trot to walk really not sound), albeit improved. Is the lameness supposed to be totally gone after cortison injections? Horse is also on Bute... so I really don't know what the problem is.

Looking into physio/chiro now to see whether her back is making her lame due to the way she's carrying herself b/c of her hocks...

i would get mctimmoney/chiro out, she may have been over compensating with certain parts of her body because of her hocks and thats the way she know to go now.

Sometimes, on some horses, the cortisone is not enough to stop the lameness. In these horses, usually the bone needs to fuse before they come sound again.

Thanks for the answers... will get physio/chiro out.

Yes, I have started thinking that I will just have to wait for her bones to fuse... which seems to take an awful lot of time. She first went lame about 10 months ago now.
