Another CHAPS question ...

I know CHAPS is to do with coloured horses but wondered, when I see adverts with 'CHAPS' registered', is it something that is a plus, a must have? What benefit/s, if any has registering with CHAPS have? Is there certain criteria, apart from the obvious, to join?

I have a coloured ID x Cob, thats him in my siggy, and have always wondered about registering him but would it be a waste of time / whats the point?

Just a thought, does it just introduce you to other people with coloured horses so you can talk about their colours? Its not like , for example, Cleveland Bay Society (or whatever it may be called) where a definite breed is owned and appreciated, is it.

I dont know but it might be that if you want to show, some shows have qualifiers for CHAPS and to be able to qual your horse has to be registerd with chaps.

Only worth doing if you want to show with them - mine is with BSPA as I tend to do their shows, but may also register with CHAPs next season to do a few of their ones to.
