Just had vet out to do Richies teeth as he has gaps that pack up with food and cause him pain,Needs this every 3 months @ nearly 100 quid a go.Vet just said he thinks he will have to go in to have thes gaps widened to try and stop the food sticking and its not covered by insurance (bummer) ANYBODY ANY IDEAS WHAT THIS MIGHT COST?as i forgot to ask the vet.
And other boy been very ichy over last few weeks and now got bald patches, god know what this is gonna cost to sort out just what you need before the dreaded xmas

Don't laugh, but I bought a tooth brush and clean out the bit of grass etc that build up between my boy's teeth. He's as good as gold and lets me do it without even putting his headcollar on in the field. In fact I think he looks forward to it now. I only brush gently upwards and then pull out the bits . Might be something to try if he will let you do it.

Not really as its his back teeth and they pack from the inside dont like the idea of sticking my hand right to the back of his mouth. It takes vet about an hour and half + 2 lots of sedation using proper dental picks to clear them. So sorry dont think it will work. Cheers anyway.
Ps check out my name(thats the boy)

sorry to hear that

about you other boy you said he has been itchy and now got bald patches mine had this couple of weeks ago he first started ichying hes belly then the rest of hes body then he got bald patches it turned out to be ringworm i didn't think it was ringworm at all coz it didn't look like it but it turned out it was

why not get horse dentist in, I trust mine more than I do my vet to do my horses teeth as that is his job.
1) what age is Ritchie as they tend to have gaps as they get older and the gums shrink and rethink feeding regiume.

Hi he is only 5 and cant really get dentist as i would still have to get vet to sedate and cant afford anymore + the dentist that our yard tends to use i dont rate as i asked him year on year to look at him from being 6 mths old and all he said was not till he is 4 and when he turned 4 he dropped loads of weight over short period so called vet out and it was discovered his teeth were not too good ( was told today this was prob down to lacking something as a babybecause he was hand reared and vet doesnt think he got all bone/teeth building nutriants he should have got).
He is ok on grass so have managed to get 6 mths out of him this time but i worry as he has all his life in front of him yet
