So after reading some interesting threads on here and I realised that my dogs' diet could be improved.
I am not aiming for raw as I don't have the freezer space, but want to cut out the nasties. I have got a bag of skinners duck and rice and currently give Butchers tins which are gluten free and have picked up some bones from the butchers tonight.
So how often do you give bones for dental care reasons and what treats do you give as obviously the biscuits have to go too and what are the opinions on Butchers tins?
Thanks in advance.

Butchers tins

Ingredients: Meat and animal derivatives (min 50%, incl. beef min 4%, liver min 4%, min. fresh meat min 15%), minerals

Not stunning, wouldn't use it myself.

I would feed chicken wings (not massive bones that might harm teeth) a few times a week.

I don't think the occasional dog biscuit will harm. You could consider Fish4dogs kibble in a treat ball.

I do feed large butchers bones every now and then and always have done with no ill effect, although I can understand people are concerned about breaking or blunting teeth but mine are large breed dogs with very strong jaws.
I would give them once a week or fortnight as they keep them going for ages.
Also chicken wings, carcasses, legs etc, mine gets at least one carcass a day. I feed dry food as a treat/training aid but never at the same time. At the moment, Supadog salmon and rice.

Skinners is not a bad food, Fish4Dogs, Wainwrights Salmon and Potato, Fishmongers etc are all OK.

You could look at Wainwrights, Fish4Dogs, Nature Diet trays and pouches which do not require freezing. Or Prize Choice blocks which take up very little space in a freezer.
