Just wondering what one should include in horse's diet if in full time and no grazing? As from previous post she is on : quarter of scoop of conditioning cubes and the same for cool mix and a scoop of alpha a. She is in light work. hacking schooling and little comps. that sort of thing. She is ID X TB, 16hh, 13 yrs old. She also has some cod liver oil and a herbal calmer, with a squidge of cider vinegar as supplements.

If she is in full time and you have her on a calmer does she really need the conditioning mix? It will give her lots of energy which might cancel each other out! Alpha A is also high in oil which might help keep her lively. I as a personal preference don't like mixes but that's just me. If you email any of the main suppliers they will work out a diet for you. When my old horse was on 24 hour stabling he had Ad-lib hay, Was fed a good bucket of redigrass and a scoop of hi Fi Nuts and carrots twice a day. He was a 15.2 Section D

Keep it all as simple as possible. mixing conditioning cubes and cool mix changes the balance in nutrients, there shouldn't be any need for it.

Add more hay/hayledge to her diet for fibre and stick to either high fibre cubes or a mix with some chaff/alfa a.

the simpler the better. monitor her condition/behavouir and make adjustments if needed.
