Does anyone have any experience of how loud 'no noise' fireworks are? A local group is planning to have a display next to one of or fields. At least they've warned us. We'll move the horses to the main yard which is about 200 yards away but wondered how loud it will be from there. They are all good and think it'll be fine, was just wondering.

do they have to do it next to the field, is there no where else??

Doesn't matter if you move them they will still be loud.

Gosh I hate this time of year. :(

The field is next to a football field and pavilion which is also used for events (parties and a music festival, etc). I really like the chap who organises it all, he’s trying hard to make it a going concern, and he’s helpful so often - with fencing and he’ll call us if he sees a horse stuck on a fence for example (this has happened). I appreciate the fact they have chosen low noise fireworks rather than standard. So I want to be neighbourly, don’t want to make it hard for him, and we can move the horses to a greater distance. Just trying to figure out what to expect. I’ll spend the evening at the yard to keep an eye on it.

Low noise fireworks have a max decibel of 70, close up they can still be noisy, but if they get high aerial ones they tend to thud on detonating and 'pop' on exploding - and have still the same colourful bursts.
I'd still not want them close to grazing animals though.

We have a major fireworks display right next to our RDA every year, together with a loud funfair. There is a 'low noise' display that happens first before the insane thunderbangs that shake the yard.

All our horses are brought in for it, the ones likely to be worst affected are in an enclosed barn with loud music and 2 people each.

The low noise ones have relatively low impact on our horses.

The others that follow are a different case entirely and I am so very glad my horse is no longer there.

Our local primary school holds their display next to a livery yard, a farm and a wildlife rescue centre. But apparently we shouldn't complain because it's for a good cause ?

I'd play it safe Abacus and if you have a quiet boring night then that's an upside.
