Poor old thing.

I do think that fireworks shouldn't be allowed to be used in the manner they are. They should only be allowed to be used for licensed displays and in the hands of professionals. I really don't like fireworks - they do absolutely nothing for me, however my horses used to love them!

F-ing fireworks should be confined to licensed displays, then everyone would know when and where they would be. A few years back at my old yard the delightful neighbours had a fireworks party, Sparks was put in her stable for safty and the muppets directed their firework straight over the roof.

reading that brought a tear to my eye.......how sad.

personally i hate fireworks - i never used to but over the years it has been made easier for untrained people to get their hands on them and have no idea what they are doing, and are too ignorant to even care about their consequences. ok not all private parties mean for bad things to happen, but it is becoming more and more common to hear of these horror stories, like a fireworks was tied to a cat. when ever i hear of fireworks going off i panic because all i can think about is my cats, and the horses (and of course all animals). fireworks go off around my house sometimes up to two weeks in advance of 5th November, and carry on right the way until Christmas.

i think the use of fireworks should be restricted to public displays with plenty of advertising and warning, and only used by trained people and licensees. teenagers and all sorts can get their hands on them, but fireworks are explosives. they may look all pretty and innocent, but at the end of the day people are still letting off explosives.

ahhhh rant over

So a poor mare and a dog has died so far.

Then on GMTV a idiot of a sick joke in halloween costume placed an INDUSTRIAL firework which was as big as a tyre (cctv footage) and it not only caused damage to the shop but the brave shop owner managed to push it out using his feet.

His 15 month old Toddler who was upstairs with his mother had to go to hospital due to smoke inhalation!

when will this Government ban the sale of these killing machines!!!

Almost 600 signatures now. The Government persist in telling us Fireworks and the current restrictions are adequate, we MUST continue lobbying for amendment to ensure only Publice Displays, undertaken within guidelines, are possible.
