I've got a dark bay Welsh Cob filly.

Hoping to get her freezemarked at some point.

As I intend to show her, do you peeps think it looks better to have the mark on her saddle area or on her shoulder?

Do horses ever suffer a back problem from having freezemarks in that area?

Also, if I can get the filly marked in March and she's due to have her first vaccination a week later, will that be a problem?

Thanks

my cob has it on his shoulder (not done by me) and its looks hideous- when i am showing i have to put boot polish on it

the only one i've ever had done, it was done under the saddle. had to have a few weeks unridden, obv.
i have heard of a horse whose back muscles were badly affected by it, but you know horses, "there's always one..."

i think if i was going to have it done again i'd have it done on the shoulder tbh, as both neck and back have underlying muscles that you want to be able to flex in all directions as loosely as possible, and shoulder has a big slab of bone under so is more stable, if that makes sense. i'd like to hear a vet's view, actually.
