My lad had the same, his white cells went down after op, but then started to go up again and the Salmonella Isolation thing was just a precaution. Vet later told me only bout 1% of horses actually shed it. Have they got him on some strong antibiotics to stop anything getting infected?
Keeping everything crossed for you, its such a roller coaster emotional ride. Make sure you rest when you can and keep positive. ((((Hugs)))).
