Irish pony, 139 cm at withers. No background, breeder, anything. Jumps and moves very well, sensitive but mostly sane type. Genetically buckskin (EEAaCr).

Please excuse the mud, I didn't have many good photos of him. Don't have the pony anymore, he's sold to another home where he's doing well but I'm still curious what he might be.

Thank you all!
Not sure why I haven't thought of Welsh before, but that would make sense. Do they have untestable blue eyes? I think he's tested for splash and didn't have that, or anything else that came up.

Are his eyes blue or dilute brown/Hazel? Because yes they do have 'untestable ' blue eyes but cream sometimes also changes the eyes - the pigment is still melanin

They look light grey. I'm fairly sure another person in a Facebook group said they were definitely blue, because of something I don't remember. But they're not just mildly lighter if that's what you mean?

It could just be lighting but they look sort of gold
I think that's the lightning, as they really look grey in person. Do you have any examples of horses who are Crcr and have lighter eyes because of it? I've never heard that it could affect eye colour much.

@SatansLittleHelper has a buckskin with gold eyes
It's not a universal thing - just as nd1 doesn't universally dilute coat but can do, especially when homozygous - and probably depends on background genome as well
Thank you. Found a photo of their horse and by first look, it is incredibly similar in coat colour and blaze. The eyes look darker than mine's, but I can't guarantee it. There's probably something else too, but when you say it, I'll maybe assume the cream plays a role in his eyes?

just because he's described as Irish or has come over from Ireland, doesn't mean he's Irish-bred or descended from Irish breed ponies. He could be part Welsh, he could be Eastern European, imported and then sold on. Unusual and very pretty coloured eyes.

I know there's no guarantee, still the only thing I really know about him is that he got a passport when he was supposed to be 6 years old (just before being exported to Sweden) and there he's registered as an Irish Sportspony. I don't know if his age is actually correct, but it seems about accurate. He doesn't look like the other Irish ponies I know but I figured you folks here will know more about them. And seems like you did.

Can you import horses to Ireland without a passport? Of course it could've been duplicated, I just don't find that very likely.
