I'm trying to insure Handy, but not sure what he'd be worth given the current market.
So I'll leave it to you to decide.. the experts!
Ok. He's a 14 year old 17hand TB gelding. No competition history, has raced for approx 8 years. Big strong horse (built like a tank), jumps anything so definately not a novice ride! Is very much still a racer. Has hunted. Very forward going.
Very quiet to handle, can be strong when led, however he does this some days and not others. Good to shoe, box, catch and clip (will load himself and very vocal), however did need sedation for teeth (tiny vet couldn't reach back as kept lifting his head).
Can jump, gives plenty of room over a fence (will make nice shape), very limited lateral work, (leg yield and turn on the forehand only).
Only hack in company as will not hack alone, On his own he jogs, becomes very strong and will spin! Also will not go in front, can be spooky and also spins if in front. He's fine to follow though
Great in traffic and with farm traffic (tractors etc).
No apparent injuries that I'm aware of, has had v.minor nosebleeds in the past. Prone to filling legs when stabled for long periods, has magnetic boots. Had equine touch tuesday. Soft feet, farrier currently reshaping them.
Handy's a lovely horse, loves his food, very quiet in and out of the stable, will happily follow me round field
He is by Imperial Frontier out of Cryptic Gold (glint of gold).
thanks!
