Hi there, just a musing, my daughter has been riding for 2 years, she's 7 and doing really well, can W,T,C all with or without stirrups, and pop a small jump. She loves riding and currently rides a 12hh little welshie who we all adore. If I was to look at getting a pony in say a years time..say about 12.2 - 13hh (she's quite tall) fairly bomb proof but not ploddy. We're not looking to compete so dont want some super pc pony, just something she can enjoy. What sort of price should I be looking to spend? (I've bought horses but never ponies) just a ball park figure!!

god i think 2k is a bit rediculous my self for a little pony what every it has done with previous owners!
i would say for a 12.2 to 13hander that has done shows bombproof but forward going i would say 900 1200 max!:0
dont go wasting your money, there are plenty for the right price and just as fun, people want rediculous money these days wouldnt you agree??
hope i could help:):)

A good safe childs first pony is worth no less in value than a good safe all round little 'fun' horse.

The numbers quoted by the other posters are right on the money!
