Hi, I'm going to have to sell one of my ponies shortly, and am unsure really of what he is worth. I have a figure in my head, but just wondered what everybody elses opinions are!
Here goes...
12hh (just!) Reg dartmoor pony. Fantastic bloodlines, by Shilstone Rocks Snowfox who had many wins at HOYS. Bay, 4 years old. He is IMO avery good example of the breed, as you would expect.
He has been shown in hand at local and county (well, he has his first county show this w/e!)
He hacks alone and in company, is great in traffic, canters happily on verges etc. good to handle but at the moment you couldnt leave a small child to tack him up or bring him in completely unaided as he is a fidget. Just starting to establish an outline in walk trot and canter and pops a small fence. He is green in the school but completely genuine. He will do anything on the leid rein, so would definitely be able to go straight out and do a lead rein showing class. I have had a small jockey on him and he was great, but she really isnt interested and would only wander about the school in walk, so Im currently riding him myself. He is a good strong pony though so doesnt struggle (Im nearly 8st 5ft1) but I know this isnt an ideal way to show off a kids pony! He was much better in a way for the smaller jockey than me though as she didnt bully him!
So, all in all he will be a cracking little pony, but isnt yet experienced or established enough to do a FR class, unless with a very good jockey, but he definitely will in time. As I said, I honestly believe he wouldnt look out of place at a county LR class, but nobody to ride him
He would hunt all day everyday, wish it was the season as I would be taking him myself!
He is just a sweet little pony, follows me about the school and over fences etc. He has been known to run away with my boot when I was having a break from poo-picking in his field! He is a little guy with a big character, and would be perfect for a fun loving, plucky child.
So, what do you all think? Can post a photo if required!
Thanks in advance
