Sorry, I've read the instructions but no where in them does it state that you can move the battery around into the different slots in the boot. I am assuming that these slots are designed to do just that.

Horse with medial (inside) suspensory branch issue (across fetlock sloping from upper back to front) and would like to put the boot on the lowest setting to start with, without ice prior to exercise (ten mins), then with ice for 20 mins after exercise. Can I put the battery over the site of the injury or should I leave it where it is on the outside of the leg for the time being?

Don't want to aggravate the injury but I am confused about where to place the vibrating battery strip. should I wait a few days before moving the battery maybe?

Thank you.

And please...if people would refrain from any sarky/nasty comments.

Hiya,
I've sucessfully rehabbed a hind DDFT injury and most of the credit i am giving to ice-vibe :) he was swollen from fetlock to mid cannon and it was very hot. I wonder if you have confused the vibro pads with the battery? the vibro pads are long thin strips that can be moved around the boot (in my case i put both boots worth of pads into one boot for max strength) the battery is a tiny square that fits in the top of the boot where it has a pocket.

I had the vibro pads either side of the area that showed the tears on the scan so in my case, towards the rear but either side of the bone. I do think it works best with the cool pads underneath and wouldn't use them without them but thats my choice- do whatever works for you :)

Hi I am really confused because the boots that I have, have the battery within the vibrating panel and you charge the vibrating panel. (see page 5 of the attached link for photo) http://www.horseware.com/ice-vibe/docs/Ice_Vibe_Manual.pdf

Maybe they have changed the way they are manufactured. Either that or I have missed something. I've not really had much time to study them to be honest and quickly flicked through the instructions. Good idea to put the two vibrating panels in the one boot.

I was given a free pair of cool pads with the seller I went through on Ebay so I plan to freeze both pairs of cool boots and use them in both fronts and hinds (battery last 40 mins so can do fronts for 20 and hinds for 20).

Well done on your successful rehab. I think the money I have is better spent on these boots rather than the odd hydrotherapy session (could only do weekends as work in week) or getting an ultrasound scan which I don't feel is of any real benefit and the vet has said will only confirm what he already knows and will set me back a cool £150! He is going back next Tuesday to the vets for his monthly check up only its been 6.5 weeks since he was last seen and 7.5 weeks since what I think was the initial injury.

Thanks for your help DDD.

Looks like they have changed them. Mine has a separate battery pack, which stays in its own pocket, and the vibe plate can be moved around. Two plates can plugged into one battery. The link you posted shows each plate having its own battery.

I have put two plates on one leg on occasion, it works well :) if you don't want ice, I would an un iced pad of some kind, rather than directly on the injury, especially at first. Maybe your vet could advice?

You can move the vibes about. Just make sure your horse is used to them first before putting them in a place they can bash into them - we have had a few horses jump out of their skin, rodeo, freak out etc with them on lol! We also have the newer style which have the battery in the plate but I don't think they have update the actual boots to take off the battery symbol in one section.

Agree - doesn't make much sense! Looks like a bit of a half job! Have had to send them back anyway - he actually needs XFS which is annoying as its cost me an additional £9.00 for the 'extra material', £7 for return postage and £8.58 for postage by courier to them.

If they had put their sizes on their website (fits up to 9 1/2 bone for example) it would have saved me an awful lot of wasted time and money. My horse has always been FS in boots, but even just the boots on their own without the ice packs in just about fit him. I tried on front and back legs! When I spoke to the ebay seller on the phone she was very helpful and when I suggested they put sizing onto the site she said that would be a good idea! Pity it came a little late for me though :(
