another insurance question

I am insurance shopping again and just wondered what the minimum amount of cover for vet fees people would be comfortable with, I have 2 malamutes and 2 mmoggies

My girls are insured for £6000 per condition per year, when took out the policy I could get £4000, £6000 or £8000 and I chose the middle one. I do know in an emergency if they had to go to a specialist an MRI is about £2000 and an operation could be a few thousand, so £6000 could quickly be used up.
