I've recommended ML for my friends pony who is about 4 yo and has lost weight since moving to my yard. She is quite a sensitive little girl (the pony:p) and she had very runny poos for the first couple of months, this resulted in her losing the weight. The vet wasn't too concerned but recommended a probiotic supplement and said don't worry.
I thought of the linseed to get her to put weight back on now her gut has almost stablised but it seems any slight episode of stress can see the runny poos back again for a a short while.
What we need to know is, will the ML be ok for her gut? The owner was a bit worried another change might upset things again.

It would be excellent for the pony but to avoid upsetting its tummy introduce it very very slowly a spoonful at a time over a lot of days so a small spoonful day one for two or three days then increasing the amount every three days until you either find out if it upsets the pony or you get to the required amount

No problem just thought Micronised linseed is very easy to digest so should be ok but slowly will indicate whether or not it is well tolerated.
I expect the Brewers yeast would also need very careful introduction and shouldnt be done at the same time so you can see which if either is upsetting the pony so personally as it is already on a pro biotic I would start with the linseed and if that goes ok then introduce the brewers yeast again very slowly

My 'soon to be' 4 yo looks a picture of health on his diet which includes ML. Being a native he really doesn't need too much of anything and molassed feed is out of the question. I feed him Baileys no 14 (conditioner), Dengies hi-fi lite and hay plus the ML. Keeps him sane and looking good. Also agree to introduce slowly as with any change in diet.

I think it is fine to feed but introduce slowly. If the horse is stressy look to sugars in diet and perhaps some magnesium oxide might help?

Thanks again all.
Amandap- I did recommend the Meta Balance as a good alround vit/min supp for her, thinking the extra yeast content would be good but I was not sure about the extra Mg, being as some horses suffer from the runs if there is too much?
Their field - as most are atm, is very waterlogged so probably deficient in Mg but when I say stressy, she is a sweety and mostly shows her stress in her runny botty:o
