Have been asked to have a DIY livery and wondered what you would expect or want to pay for the following please?

Stable and all year grazing in new post & rail paddocks with proper tanks so no topping up or carrying water about.
Tack and feed room virtually 'self possession' except for my rug boxes; it has plugs so hot drinks on tap too.
Fair hacking (person is more of a happy hacker than anything) no school but can ride in empty field if necessary.
24 Hr experienced on site back up if needed who can bring in/out, change rugs and so on.

We can either supply haylage and bedding (pellets) or a little space for them to source their own.

So basically need prices for facilities (not that there are many!) on their own plus what you would charge to supply haylage (no restriction on amount) bedding and possible basic feed. We're in south Cheshire if that makes a difference.

All help gratefully listened to, thanks!

Also are there any restrictions you would place on someone (already know there are no children!) as to hours etc?

i get all the above (apart from the hay/haylege supply) and we have a school. I pay 22 quid a week, in north staffs, so not far distance wise. I think I would be look to pay for above no more that 20 quid.

for hay bedding and feed I would pay an extra 10/15 quid.
We can be at the yard between the hours of 7 and 8, except for one livery who has to work at 6 so comes and feed all the horses before work.

£100 per month for the livery. And then £8 per week for haylage (regardless of how much is used).

Sounds like a lovely set up.

£25 p/w plus and extra £25 p/m for bring in and turn out and then £3 per day for muck out. We also have use of school with SJ, horsewalker, shower-room etc included in the price. We can then by shavings at £7 a bale and hay at £4 and we're provided with storage in the livery.

Regarding the hours. I have no restrictions on what hours I can be there. However, I am asked to be considerate of outside 'normal' hours.

So for instance - it is normal for me to turn up at around 6.45 in the morning and then after work etc.

However, if I were to need to be at the yard at stupid O clock at either end of the day - I would simply let YO know.

I've never been at a yard where there are restritive hours - just consideration and common sense required....

I charge £30 a week, which includes large stable with rubber matting. Turnout in small single sex groups with post and rail fencing and water troughs. No poo picking required as we do it. I put feeds in in the morning as required and turnout every horse 7 days a week in winter. All horses out 24/7 from April to November.

Haylage on site @8.50 per horse per week - as much as wanted. Wood pellet bedding available on site at retail price.

Winter and summer grazing, jumping paddock with loads of show jumps and XC practise fences, grass gallop and floodlit all weather arena.

We are open from 7am mon - fri to 8.30pm and 8am -8pm weekends. however we are happy for people to come outside those hours as long as they are considerate and first on the yard puts the feeds in.

Thanks everyone, that's very helpful.

Bosworth, with the exception of the jumps, gallops and arena, that's what we will be offering (I forgot we had all rubber matting in each box now!)
My only 'must do' is they must come and tell me they are here and when they are leaving too, we just like to know who is about security wise as we are alarmed up to the hilt too after all of the power tools and quad went missing some while ago! I have pellets in big tonne bags so I could let her have one for her use only if she wants to use them, I know not everyone likes them.

Nailed! - "for hay bedding and feed I would pay an extra 10/15 quid." That's quite cheap, especially if they have a wet horse and go through bedding like fury or if they are anally generous with it as some liveries can be; if it was shavings, two bags a week is not unheard of and that money is used up without supplying anything else! I hear what you're saying though it'll be a lot easier to just supply a stable and grazing and let them source their own needs if they prefer.

We'll see, they're due around this evening; it might all come to nought! I'll let you know and again, thanks for all your help.

I'd expect to pay £20 pw for those facilities.
Then £5-15 pw for ad-lib hay/haylage (depending on the size of the horse, the amount of time in, the type of forage).
Then pay for the bedding I use pw (I think a set amount for as much bedding as you need is not a good idea and encourages waste and a bigger muck heap!).

£5 pd for full livery (T/O, B/I, muck out, water/hay)
£1-2 pd for T/O and B/I (depending on the length of walk or how easy it is to catch!)

I would say £20pw for the stable and grazing
Let them source hard feed
Haylage - depends how much it costs to to buy/produce but somewhere in the £8-10pw isn't unreasonable
Bedding - let them use your supply of pellets and pay per bag used at whatever you buy them in for in bulk and round the price up. Otherwise they source their own
