Ive noticed Benson's mane slowly disappearing and today saw the pony eating it he has about 8 inches up his mane chewed how do i stop this? cant move him out field

It's part of a horses natural interraction with others. Why on earth would you want to prevent it? As the weather starts getting cooler, they'll stop doing it so often anyway.
I wasn't too bothered as I liked to see she had a "friend", she had been quite aloof at our previous yard.
When it came to plaiting for showing, I just took some from her tail and plaited it into her mane. Thankfully, her tail is full enough that it could take this small loss.

Do you show your horse or are you just a happy hacker? Either way, I would be totally furious if some half-wit's nag had chewed up my horse's mane. Have a SERIOUS conversation with your yard manager.
