Ok so have more or less made my mind up to trade in my lorry for a newer model if it passes its plating next week. So have seen some on here with no luton which will suit me and are that bit cheaper than those with a bed in the luton. So question would this type of horsebox sell just the same as one that had a bed in the luton or not? It's the transport range at the bottom of the front page.

People prefer a designer lorry with a luton. The advantage of not having a luton is that the cab can be tilted fully which makes it very much easier to service and do roadside repairs (especially important on motorways). No luton also reduces the weight of the vehicle giving you a greater payload. A tilt cab will add to the weight of the vehicle but will allow the cab to be tilted although in some cases not fully. (A tilt cab with a bulkhead can add an extra half a ton to the weight of the vehicle).

"Along with our Field range, these boxes offer the advantage of retained cab tilt facility - therefore simplifying servicing and repairs."

It will still tilt just doesn't look as nice and no bed in it? If I wanted to sell it on would people be put off by the fact it has no bed in it?

I think that there are lots of non-luton lorries around now - and I would certainly consider one if I like the lorry. Wouldn't put me off.

As others have said - means cab can be fully tilted which is a big plus.

I wouldn't be put off at all.
Too many people have a huge living with all mod cons when they only use the lorry for tootling up the road to local shows. Yet the horse area in the lorry is often horrible.
I'm not going to stay overnight at shows so only need a tiny living area to change in & store tack, so my preference is for a high spec horse area & ramp. Would never buy a lorry without tilt cab facility (unless it was the type where engine is in front like Iveco daily / Renault master etc)

the cab can be tilted with a luton, you just have a "false bottom" fixed to the luton, which slides out when you need to tilt the cab.

Not all lorries with lutons have that facility, the one we use at the moment has a luton with a flap that lifts up so cab can be tilted, but so many lorries around don't have anything like that. For the extra cost, weight and hassle I'd say not worth it.

cheers for the replies

so basically as long as cab tilts for easy maintenance it wouldn't put you off if no bed. Good as these lorries seem a bit cheaper than those that do and I only chuck rugs on the bed I've got in the lorry at the moment anyway!
