Having seen the success Smoochy has had getting info about her horse, I thought I'd give it a try! (didn't want to hijack the other post)

My horse's dam was Coosheen Dawn, who was out of Killard Girl - sire was Triggerero. My lad's sire was a TB called Underwood. I have managed to find info on Triggerero and Underwood's line, but can't find any info on Coosheen Dawn or Killard Girl. I'd love to find out more about them. Can anyone help?

Try contacting the IDHS (GB) who hold a database of all registered draughts.

That's what I was going to suggest but was a bit slow.

Coosheen is Gaynor Mitchell's prefix. You can e-mail her on coosheenstud@tiscali.co.uk - probably easier than 'phoning her as she is an incredibly busy lady! - Coosheen Dawn is not listed in the IDHS database, nor is Killard Girl.

Thanks for the replies!

I have spoken to Gaynor Mitchell before - she was really nice and helpful. Coosheen Dawn wasn't one of hers.

Is the IDHS database just for pure IDs? Both these mares were IDxTB. I did get some info from the IHB, but just what I've put on here.

I think I was hoping that perhaps someone knew the horses or had one of their offspring. My lad's breeder was called Brenda Anderson, if anyone knows of her.

Mmm - sounds like the person who named Coosheen Dawn was not using the Coosheen prefix (which they shouldn't do if it's not 'theirs') but naming the horse for the PLACE (in Co. Cork) There's also a Connemara Stud in Ireland that uses the Cosheen prefix.

The IDHS database includes both RID and also sport horses - but only those registered WITH IDHS (GB) Sounds like these mares were in Ireland - so wouldn't be listed unless one or more of their progeny was registered with IDHS (GB)
