I heard on the car radio this morning that an animal sanctuary to the south of Luton, Beds has just had a huge fire and been more-or-less totally destroyed. It housed 30-40 horses and a lot of dogs, some of which are missing. The place has just lost all it's resources including horse blankets and (I think) feed) and the owner is beside herself.... has no-where to go, no way to look after the animals.
If anyone has any way to help I'm sure the owner will be very grateful. I believe this is the correct address...

Pepperstock Alternative Animal Sanctuary
Windmill Road
Pepperstock
Luton
Beds
LU1 4LQ

I dont know a phone number and even if I did the line has probalby been destroyed.

If any Operation Esther co-ordinators are reading this.....

I've just emailed a member of the welfare team at Redwings regarding this and have asked to be told of any action on their part...... hopefully they can step in quickly and help....

Does anyone else have anymore stuff they can help with

Okay - but where do I take them to and where are the animals?

Do you have any news about the missing animals and what dog stuff have they said they need for the dogs they kept?

I have some turnout rugs and am more than happy to donate some bags of feed of their request. However, I have no reliable transport that will get me out to luton. Is anyone in the Thames Valley area that will be going that way at all? Can also donate Headcollars, stable rugs etc. please call me 07786 997 317 if you can pick the stuff up or i can drop locally, but i'm not happy about taking my car all that far due to it being the most unreliable thing ever.

Just received this from TC Feeds

six pooches perished in the fire along with some geese and I believe some small animals too

RIP all

Pepperstock will be publishing their wishlist on their website soon and getting a new mobile as their phone died in the fire

They still need

mini/pony stuff rugs and head collars
head collars cob and full size
yard equipment-forks, poop scoopers, shovels, wheelbarrows
tarpaulins to cover the donated hay
Any kind companies to donate a couple of sheds and erect them so that they have a dry area to store feed etc

Long term
barns and stabling is required also

Tamara and Sharon are very overwhelmed by the kind response from everyone.

If you are going come off at junction 9 of M1 and follow into Markygate-turn right at Hicks Road an this leads into Windmill Road

Well done everyone for supporting this-they really have lost everything

My heart truely hurts.

I know it sounds selfish but I wish I had not come on this thread right now. Life can be so f*****g unfair sometimes.

I have dogs of my own which don't take too kindly to other dogs coming into their space so unfortunately I cannot offer any short or long term care at my home for any of the poor dogs. However, I can either donate some money for their care or take in a horse/pony on a long or short term basis. I don't have my own yard but I can put him/her at the yard where I am and pay for him/her as I do with my own.

May be I should give Tamara and Sharon a call?

I have 3 rugs that I have finally found that they can have. 2 turnout and one stable.

The sanctuary will be launching a fund-raising appeal to let them start rebuilding. They need temporary buildings for storage and shelter very quickly.

It would be a good idea to contact companies that supply show stables as its very quiet for the time of year and I am sure a deal could be struck or even loaned for free for a while???
