Another outbreak of Foot & Mouth 10 miles from....

On the news today they are saying that their has been a confirmed outbreak of Foot and Mouth in Egham in Surrey (10 miles from the last outbreak in Pirbright) and they have put a 3 miles exclusion.

surely Pirbright would have upped their biosecurity?

Poor farmers, my thoughts are with all of them

oh dear not again i did fear it was not over as they transported the first lot of infected animals back to somerset. i dont feel that they have dealt with it very well at all as they have done so many things that would spread it. ie left the infected heard out in the field til they were destroyed, letting the helicopter hover just above, transporting the infected stock and letting a sheep sale go ahead before the results came back,

Apparently it's not confirmed yet, but 'suspected'. Results should be out this pm. Fingers crossed.

The exclusion zone covers both the M25 and M3. They are deciding whether this means no travelling of livestock through this area.

The Foot and Mouth has been confirmed as the 20 cattle has now been destroyed this morning. Sorry told on B.B.C 1 News at 11am.
