I have come to a hard decision of having to sell one of my mares, lots of circumstance changes but dont have a clue how to price her, Ive never sold anything before and I bred her so have never bought anything either! and would like some advice.
She is 15hh TB x heinz (mum was quite talented jumper 14.3) lovely temperment easy to do, in foal to connemara stallion due beginning of June.
She has an old injury to her hind leg, the tendon around the back of the fetlock got damaged so she would never do any serious work, although is fine hacking and the leg does strengthen with work (she has a funny snatching action with it occasionally).
We think she will make a lovely mum as she was mothering the foals at the stud when she went to get covered.
Thanks

£1000 for a broodmare (proven) blemished so not really suitable for showing especially with that sort of movement. Light hacking maybe! In foal would make the price a lot higher but it depends on the stallion used..

Sounds like she will be a good leisure horse - hacking, limited schooling/jumping due to leg injury?? Given that she may not pass a vetting with that leg and thus is not likely to be up to competitive work (from what you say) I'd say £1000

Sorry I would say less, I have seen reg TB & WB mares going for 1k. Sas was a really nice 15hh reg mare & proven brood mare had been advertised since Nov with only 5 calls. In the end she was sold for £500. The market for a 15hh mare with un recorded breeding is even smaller. You may get 1k but it will depend on who she is in-foal to. That does not mean you should not put her on for 1k, but be prepared to drop.

Hi thanks for that, its about what I was thinking, she is in foal to a nice connemara stallion who has produced some lovely offsping who are now showing at county level
