Have just seen a horse advertised that i liked the look of this is the 1st advert:
15.2 IDXTB, Grey mare, 15 years, no lumps or bumps, very talented horse, done dressage and BSJ and has winnings, school mistress, good to hack alone in company, good in traffic, very loving and quite easy to handle, has also hunted in the past, must go to good home

2nd advert is
15.2hh Full upquality registered grey mare, ID x T, lovely to handle, just 16 years, hacks alone or in company, excellent in stable, box, shoe, clip, lovely paces nice manners, good in traffic, foward ride, has hunted in past, must go to good home genuine reason for sale Tel

I am confused the phone number is the same but the horses ages are different as is the price and the description-one says 'quite' easy to handle and the other says excellent in stable!
Do you think its the same horse?

You sure they're the same horse? Could be one person with 2 similar horses?
Although they do sound similar. Not sure I'd trust the vendor!

Hmm maybe - but then why the different age? maybe 'quite' easy to handle didnt go down to well!
Do you think its a bargin- or avoid with a barge poll????

Hmmm
Maybe give them a call! To be fair my mare was 15 a week ago and is now 16....but price change a bit odd. Maybe where it says quite easy to handle it was meant to be quiet, easy to handle?? YOu never know with ads. I think i'd call, but be cautious!

maybe its cheap because of the age? And could easily be an older advert and a new one, hence different age. Maybe price change due to change in circumstances, debt etc? All easy to explain away, so worth a look, however be careful as it is a little odd!

I have to admit to doing this myself, I will write an ad, stick it up in a local feed merchant's then do another totally different the next place I advertise.
As for price it's reasonable, we have a 16.2 hh 13 year old chesnut who last year went round three Pre Intro courses at Un aff Hunter Trials, jumps well, has won dressage etc but because of his age and the fact he weaves at feedtime without a grill he will be advertised at the £2250 mark.
He has virtually no mileage but his age will put some people off. Now if anyone wants a fun horse whilst their own is off lame etc, one like him or the mare above make good choices..
I reckon he for instance has at least another 8 or 10 years soundness left in him, and he is stunning to look at..
Husband plans to get him to couple of un aff ODE's, get placed then advertise him. Or he my do a few BE's on a ticket.

Doesnt seem too bad, just 16 as opposed to 15 is very little difference. Many horses are advertised at different prices, partly depends where being advertised. As you have seen the cheaper one you could get that price. People will often put the price up on the advert if they are putting it somwhere posh

Gutted- rang last night and they have decided to keep him!
