well finally got home!!! wow what a weekend. Travelled up to Lincoln for RC champs from rural gloucestershire only took 3 1/2 hours, brilliant going and i was passenger in lorry - luxery for me. Got there and very different for last year really friendly folks on gate, lovely atmosphere. Set up camp with our Rc team members for Rural Rider and settled horses in, then before Bbq, got the men to set up long arena to prastice in. Mmmmm perhaps we should given them help, as we got down there, mmm not square, nor letters in right place, but with a bit of gentle chatting-sorted

, then after practising put ggs away and got on with main event of drinking!!!!! well what a bunch of light weights........ it ended up with me and my mate drink a few glasses of wines and bottle of pimms before 12 midnight !!!! Forgot camping, NO loos!!! NO un-suite!!!! NOW i remember why i don't camp any more

Whilst plaiting, thinking i'll do next plait THEN be ill, NO i can cope do another plait!! etc.......
Got on board and nerves settled but still thinking i can't do sitting trot i'll be ill. Warm up went horribly wrong!!! folks just not getting it right so fingers crossed for test.
Well blow me down!!! test went ok, as we left test folks were a bit unhappy, feeling we could've done better and my pairs partner was just not speaking!!! 9 months of training OMG to come last !! Is what we were ALL thinking, but all our supporters and trainer were saying 'Nar it was fine, it looked good and smooth WELL DONE'.
Went back to stables and presented our trainer with picture montage of her competeing at Blair 2** jumping the water - brilliant set of image and she was so shocked she couldn't speak

.
Well then had to wait a couple of hours to ride our pairs test, knowing that RR results takes hours (WHY!!!!???)
So pulled gg out and they were not impressed for their warm-up before pairs. Started to warm and that also was not happening, got rode off with by another pair!!!

and then got told our start time had changed to go in. Original we were 2nd on but 1st pair pulled had out so we were on first, o well benchmarking test!. Again test went smoothy but not brilliantly, but after we left arena to whooping and clapping all our supporter were shouting that we had come 2nd at RR - OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2nd

brilliant first time we had ever done this kind of test and we came 2nd at nationals!!!! and team that won, won last year so what a result and with mounted presentation - YEAH
grin.gif

Then we had to long only wait for pairs results - 4hrs!!!!!- well we came =9th so WOW placed aswell, brilliant.
But why o why does it that 4hrs to get a result

, it really does take edge of doing well, cos all you want to do is go home.
But on reflection what a weekend and we were sure that if we hadn't of been first in arena on pairs we would have been much higher, o well still pretty good weekend - thanks for reading - images going up in P-G soon but here's a one of my fav ones

Well done, great result.
Yes the results are a nightmare, in the dressage my daughter competed at 9.30 ish and the last horse was in about midday, presentation was at about 5.30.I'm certain it could be done better with all dressage tests in the morning and riders tests in the afternoon. I also think they should have a ride off for the champion and not just use the computer to work out the average in the arena and then see how your mark compared to that. If you are in an arena where there is a high standard it doesn't matter if you win that arena and get the highest mark of the day.If they had all the dressage in the morning then the winning riders could do a ride off of their test in front of a judge[ that's only 8 riders ] I know it would be 4 different tests but it would be much fairer.Think I might write to suggest it.
Anyway you did fantastic and next year maybe keep the drinking until Saturday night, no drink both nights ,it seemed to work well this year.LOL

thx

sorry nar doing PP and then on sunday got rc training up at Unicorn Trust, trying out dressage to music????

Well done! We didn't come anywhere, got rather a cr@p mark really and a bit disappointed tbh, our trainer is a BD listed judge and she actually said she was massively surprised with my mark being so low, but hey ho, you win some you lose some...
Was a great atmosphere though, deternmined to go back next year - might stick to the sJ though. ALthough we were thinking of trying to put together a rural riders team for next year, and I just wanted to ask what sort of level your team is riding/competing at? Are you all sort of novice tests and above? Most of us are still competing at prelim you see and I thought we might just be totally outclassed!!

Well done that's fab!!!! Our club are hoping to get a RR team together next year. Looks difficult but fun!

I was doing my Riding Test class whilst the RR was going on. Rosie was way excited and did all her canter work humping her back, skipping about and tossing her head!! - Not pretty!

Although our score wasn't impressive we actually came 11th individually and the team came 2nd which we were dead chuffed about.

Style Jumping was more me and we enjoyed that bit. Our team came 6th, which again was exciting as I've been to Lincoln 4 times now and this is the first time I've come away with any rossies apart from the Commemorative one!

Knackered now!

elo it was fab weekend i loved and defo want to quailifiy again.
Most of our members are working at elem and two are completeing higher. But what's the most important thing really is that all horses have same PACE and CHILLED attutitude with each other as if you get it wrong it will go horribly wrong - meduim canter can be very interesting!!!!. We started training in dec and ran an A and B team cos horses and human will break. In our team we had one lady who was 6 month pregnant and one who had to step in with 3 weeks to go before champs due to horse injury!!!!
If you want to know more pl pm

thx-it's nice to get number on rossie, as it was my first time at champs and i was very chuffed to end with numbers on both my rossies
Yea RR is defo fun, but do take a lot a commitment as it look easy when slick, but boy it can go horribly wrong!!! which is also very fun
