can anyone please recommend me a saddle which is like an ideal/keiffer/passier or albion? i'm looking at all 4 atm for my tb but trying to see if i can find one on a budget (limited funds til other saddle sells). Its for a tb with med withers but massive shoulders- he was described as saddler as 'not normal' because of his shape as like i said pretty bulky for a tb. all the named saddles in my price range seem to be too short or wide grr. If anyone can recommend an alternative please do so! thanks:D

Have the same trouble with my ID x TB, finally at present he is in a kieffer had to go through loads of saddles to find one that didnt stop him being able to use his shoulders and move properly. A lot fitted well, however he lost his movement which is very big in a lot of saddles.

Have you tried Poppy Webber. www.poppywebber.co.uk she is fantastic and sorted us out with a sadldle that doesnt just make do, but properly fits and the horse can freely move in it, she is also a Bowen Therapist which means she fully understands skeletal structure and muscle masses to ensure the saddle does not impede any areas. As she said my horse is Mr Albion all the saddles sit fantastically on him, but he just doesnt move as he can do in them, the seem somehow to restrict him so she spent a long time (including sitting on him to feel what I was saying) till we got the perfect fit. She is the first saddler that fully understands what I was trying to say.

Have you looked at the Ideal Tonishia? They are made for horses with large shoulders.
If its of interest, PM me as I have one which I need to sell as it no longer fits my boy

hi hertz, thanks for the reply. prob is until other saddle sells i'm on a v limited budget! when my other one sells (hopefully decent amunt too!) then i can look at getting something really good. i've just bought a standard eng leather saddle for a steal, nothing wrong with it and seems straight cut too. i've enclosed url for pics for opinions!
