Wise ones... I require a jump saddle for narrow shoulders as I am being sent more and more TB types with teeny tiny shoulders. With some of them it really is like sitting on a razor blade  My very, very old Albion slides up their withers so I end up sitting on their neck... not great with one that has a little tendency to buck  The Stubben I have sits OK on most of these horses, but is a bit big for me and puts my leg in a funny position. Again, not ideal if I need some stickability :o

Ideally I need a 16.5" but definately no larger than 17" and preferably second hand.

Any ideas?

Thankys... Chocolate biccies and tea/coffee for elevensies on offer if you're quick :)

the saddles that have worked best on my narrow TB have been an old stubben (fitted well but a bit old fashioned and high in the cantle for me), a butet (sadly can't afford one of my own) and a Style monoflap, which isn't dissimilar to the butet. I picked mine up for £300 on ebay and have been very happy with it used on a couple of TBs. It is very flat seated and has little in the way of blocks which suits me, but might not be everyones cup of tea (I am very tall riding very small horses!)

Oooh thanks gyus :)

I really don't like blocky saddles at all - my Albion is so old I don't think knee blocks were invented when it was born! I had velcro knee rolls put in for when I am on something that has bigger movement/generally a bit wild

Scarlett your one looks v nice. I have only ever ridden in a Barnsby dressage saddle, never the jump ones.

I had a Silhouette CC for Wilby - was nice but with him having both narrow shoulders and a big backend (croup high) he grew again and it started being shunted forwards. We are now in a solutions treeless and that is doing the trick and staying put (provided I put it on right in the first place! Not fun in the RoR demo when I didn't have it on right in the first place and ended up sat on top whilst the saddle was flapping round his sides! :p) and he goes so much better in it.
If you like a narrow twist though they're not ideal, and mine was blinking WIERD to get used to at first (it's a size bigger than what I need, but mum needed to fit in it aswell!), but all the knee blocks are all interchangeable.

GigantaHorse (who is very narrow for his size) is in an Antares but also suits a Prestige, both are lovely saddles if that helps.

We've got a veeeeery old devoucoux narrow which is amazing on narrower ones, well worth getting on the phone to see if you can find one on its last legs (it's not for sale ;))
