and have decieded that I want to buy a new jacket

So my question is ... do I need a blue/black/pink(

)/tweed jacket ?

I haven't got a clue what is the 'correct' colour to have so I thought I'd ask the people in the know

Depends what you wnat to do

Tweed can be worn for everything, but "show jackets" look better for SJing and Dr IMO

Want to do Coloured Classes (if the moose decideds to come sound ! )

And for the record Sol is a LMW ISH , and is red and white

Tweed for coloured showing, preferably brown or green. Brown will probably look better with Sol's colouring, maybe one with a bit of red shot through it? Plus navy velvet for the hat.

Tweeds for coloured unless evening performance.

I have just bought a really nice dark brown one for Chancer - who is a dark bay skewbald, but have kept the green one for Farra who is strawberry roan.

Blue is avoided but you have can have jacket with blue thread in it.

Now this may be a really stupid questions but where can I find tweed jackets

Searched the usual but its just comes up with plain blue/browns

Is it best to get from proper showing people

I've only ever had my navy pikeur

So I don't know where to start !

Also - Being a complete showing numpty (even though I managed to groom for a coloured at County level for over a year

Is tweed for all breeds in coloured classes ? As she's not native ( unless ISH is counted as native to Ireland

) I know Lina ( other coloured in my sig ) rider was in tweed and she was a WB so

Have you tried Pritchard's in Llantrisant? I got a really nice one from there. They tend to have a good selection and even have some nice second hand ones sometimes.

If you are going to mail order, Rideaway are good, or Robinson's. If you're going to really splash out try Alexander James - it's on my Christmas list for next year as they're pricey and I've already bought this year's, lol!

I went up to Pritchards when I took my saddle there and had a look but they all look funny on me ! As I'm odd

shaped

So am really looking have on altered so I stop looking like a box

I never wore anything but Tweed until I got to Intermediate level BE. Its worth spending a little bit more as they are much more flattering!! I got one with a bit of extra space underneath so that I could fit plenty of layers &amp; a waistcoat. But make sure it isnt going to hang off in the summer!

Keep an eye on ebay - you do get some really nice stuff like Alexander James/Showing Selection/Mrs Candy come up - I got my AJ on their for £60 - like new and for me, a good fit.

Personally I would rather have a good quality second hand jacket than a cheap new one.

ETA I think the Lisa, the Rebecca, the Tasha or the Zara, depending on what shade of green/or if you want brown, with a bit of red in to match Sol.
