One of our plugs went right through the stud hole and out the bottom and side of the shoe, so we now have a hole. Have bunged with cotton wool, should we get a new shoe? Worried stones will get stuck and cause a problem

Is it me or is the cotton wool never there when you come to put a stud in??

Even with the preshaped special cotton wool bits, they are never in the hole when I come to do my studs. Although to be honest I don't use them that much, so I guess the cotton wool would have to stay put for around 2 weeks.

Tbh I think stud holes are a pain in the arse, as you say replacing the cotton wool, keeping them clean, rethreading them before you use them and if the ground is really boggy our mare just says 'no thanks' anyway!
