well i have just had a jumping lesson tonight, and i now have something else to try with millie after our bad round saturday-basically changing bits again!!
anyway we started with gridwork and she was FANTASTIC well over PN height as well really really good and pleased
was making a superb shape and picking all those feet up.
We then jumped a single fence at a canter and she immediatly perked up and was a bit like erm no i want to go at it on a long stride thankyou!
anyway jumped that ok and we moved over to do a few fences as a course.
Well totally different i could take her into a fence lovely but as soon as we landed she went into her own little world and doesnt tank but when you say woah she just thinks she knows best-its strange shes not like a crazy horse that just gallops off but she just diesnt take any notice of you trying to check her.
Finished it on a good note and that was that. Im changing her bit again, i have a lesson on friday with another instructor who knows millie well and i asked her to ride her for me as well as iv never seen anyone else jump her and really wondered if it is just my riding. So i will try the bit then and we shall see!
its so strange because at MK the other week in the waterford she was relaxed and i could just let go of the rein and she wouldnt increase in pace!
argh so annoyed with her atm but i really do stil think its a bitting issue as she definatly has the ability and now the technique its just finding something that she doesnt mind in her mouth as she doesnt like gag type bits and nothing overly strong just something which will "woah" her when i pull.
thats the plan anyway
