After much deliberation, I ordered a Quillin Stallion headcollar for my show cob - couldn't find anything heavy enough for him over here, and one well-known saddler quoted me £180 to make one

Anyway, it arrived today and I'm seriously impressed. Cob and OH are too!

Wow - they are GORGEOUS. I bought a cheapy Kincade one from ECW with a plate on it and it doesn't look 1/10 as good as that...

Defo saving up for one!

Absolutely gorgeous headcollars and horses shown!!! sorry to sound thick but what is teh difference between the Stallion Turn out halter and the Stallion Saler Halter? Which one have you bought? and also what size - sorry to ask so many questions but I have been looking for a nice leather headcollar for ages, but I am wondering if it might be too thick for him.

Mine is the Stallion Sale halter with double buckle, snap throat, lined triple ply noseband and adjustable chin.
The difference between the Turnout one and the Sale on is the width of the leather - 1" to 1 1/4".
Makes all the difference I think.

Well worth the wait arent they!!!

And so nice to be able to buy 'outsize' stuff at a realistic price.....all I could find over here was Jeffries and that was over £150.....for a headcollar....I ask you....

PS I bought the Large size and that was plenty big enough length-wise but just right on the noseband which is where I usually have problems (deep jaw).
Hope that helps! I admit I did pay $75 for FedEx at Quillin's recommendation (they've had problems with the US postal system).
It took from 4pm in Kentucky on Tuesday to 12noon on Thursday to arrive! How's that for service!
