This was our first event of the season. We were late getting there, I was in a right stress. There was an accident on the other side of the M25. Took me an hour to do the first 20 miles
So jogged my walk round the XC, but didn't have time to look at the SJ.
Threw tack on, and off we went to warm up.
Dressage is the phase we're not very good at. Rosie was pretty good apart from throwing her head about madly in the first canter, and she does struggle with roundness as really she's a giraffe!
So, I was quite please with the score of 37.1.
Quick change for the SJ which luckily was running 20mins late or so. Gave me a chance to walk round 3 sides of the ring with Rosie in tow to look at sitings of jumps and also number of strides between the double.
Rosie loves SJ, so off we went, flying over everything and a big toss of the head to finish - clear
We were then really late for the XC. We were supposed to be about 3rd last to go in our section and I was worried that they'd have given up waiting for me as I'd got to get across the road and all the way back to the other end of the site to change outfits, but actually, other people were a lot later and the class went on for another hour.
So, we toddled over to the XC. Rosie was vey excited in the practice ring and kept zooming off.
She wasn't all that patient in the start box - but off we went, she wanted to go flat out, but I didn't, so we had a fair few little tug-of-war fights on the way round, and she got under a few, but apart from that we had a whale of a time.
We came in clear within the time, and she was not even puffing...can't say the same about me!
Washed her off, put her in the trailer and went off to see how we'd done. We were 8th! Very chuffed with that, and a nice big rossie to hang up in Rosie's stable
