the vet was back up again tonight and abby is starting her road to recovery. the vet thinks her lameness is now down to the bruising on her foot not an absese, but still isn't ruling it out. he showed me the bruising and is so red and sore!! i'm surprised she wasn't crippled with pain sooner. she can now walk round her stable still lame but is happy to move. under no circumstances is she allowed on hard ground so is gonna be bed ridden for a long time, she won't be able to have a shoe on for over 4 weeks!! he says its so bruised because her feet are super super flat which we are gonna deal with once her foot is fully healed
he leg wound are looking fab!! and are clearing up no end!! so all in all she's feeling much better in herself but won't be out in the field or ridden for quite a while
i have been told about a horse needing exercised near me that i might be able to take out while she is getting better.
my vet also told me about a place which still has some horses available for the beltane ride that i wanted to do so hopefully i'll still get to do that, just gutted its not gonna be on my baby girl
just wanna say i'm so proud of my gorgeous girl for being so good a brave through all of this and letting me poltice her sore foot everday!! she's really appreciating her cuddles just now cause she's lonely in her stable
but hey looks like we're on the way back up even tho it's gonna be a long long process so fingers crossed everyone
