Hey guys :)

Some of you may remember my ponio who had to have a full penile amputation in January... Wellll... He's back in full work again:D! He still has a lot of pent up energy (I wont be the one taking him for a gallop to get ride of it, I quite like living:eek:) but it's less than when we first started. We're now back to doing walk, trot, extended trot, collected trot, canter, extended canter, collected canter, shoulder ins, leg yields, canter-halt; everything we were doing before the op :)!

He is still very unfit and is panting heavily after 30 minutes BUT he's back to his old self

We'll start competing again in April starting with Easter Fest here in SA and then a week or so later Riders Fest (hoping to be one of the top Juniors in ranking - It's extremely ambitious and unlikely looking at the lovely imports that we have to compete against, but it's worth a try:eek:)

Here are some photies :p (sorry for the horrible quality, my 12 year old brother took them and doesn't know how to focus a camera:eek:):

Great news hope he still knows he's a boy horse, and that the others haven't been teasing him :)

Is that fencing just single rail? Our horses would just crawl under that the little blighters  :D

I must have missed the posts about him needing an amputation. Why did he need one? :)

We were originally only going to do a semi amputation because he had sarcoids on his penis which we were not able to treat (we we were able to but they weren't responsive and kept coming back), Ponio managed to scratch one off and the wound became infected (despite the vet seeing him weekly and me cleaning it twice daily religiously). Once he was under anaesthesia the vet discovered Squamous cells very high up on his penis, so the whole thing had to be amputated and his urethra redirected to under his tail. Was really quite awful :(

Poor boy.

Still, it's fantastic he is on the mend now. :)

Thank you Tallyho! SA is lovely at this time of year - just a bit rainy, yesterday was the first time I could ride in a week because the arenas were wet

Thanx Scrunchie, Booboos and Marydoll:)
