Been meaning to post this as a couple of weeks ago at our stables. My friends car got broken into. We had just come back down the lane from a hack and had saw a suspicious looking white car (old type - didn't reallytake that much notice at that point.) With 2 middle aged men in it both with dark hair.

Anyway, when we got back to the yard, it must have been once we had gone to untack, they must have come down the road and sneaked in the gate - hers was the nearest car - and they smashed the window and took her handbag and other valuables.

The people haven't been caught and the police said there has been a number of burglaries around rural Leicestershire.

So keep all valuables locked away and out of sight!

Can I just add to this..never, never never leave your handbag in thecar. If thieves see a woman without a handbag they will assume you have left it in the car, usually under the seat or in the boot and break in, whether they can see it or not.

If you are planning on horse riding/dog walking/etc and have to take the car, just take what you need in your pockets
