Another western question

Yes I know that these are different styles of riding. There is a place near me that has what looks like a good trainer.I plan to try western riding there hopefully on one of their horses and if it is a route I wish to continue with I will send my horse there for intial training and myself fro lessons. They also have visiting trainers for clinics.I just feel that my horse and I are a little stale and could do with another challenge. Also it all looks like FUN!!! which we could do with and I fancy the pleasure trail classes.Thinks thats what they are called!

As the others said.

The problem is often less with the horse than the rider, European 'English' riders use much more rein contact than North American 'English' riders and sometimes find it very difficult to give as much rein as a western trained horse is accustomed too.

Actually I have to give my horse a fair amount (although not as much as western I imagine) rein as he shuts down quite easily otherwise.I think he will like western very much!
