evening all :)
basically i am in my final year of school and am doing my A levels and have applied to go to uni in 2013
I have got a working pupil placement at an Olympic hopefuls yard (very excited!) and they have said i can start anytime from july. But with the eventing season then being half short, do you think it would be best that i go in the July through to whenever i want considering i dont get burnt out or go from the feb and do half a season on the front end. I am also planning to do a bit of travelling so it is also the case of what shall i do with my horse then! we cant afford to keep him in livery and my parents dont ride!
any ideas ?? thanks :)

On your placement, you aren't allowed your horse? And how long is the placement?

It depends entirely on what you want at uni. Will you be able to keep the horse then? If not, go to the eventer's yard mid July and sell the horse when you go with hopefully a clutch of decent results under his belt... When you finish at the yard, you can go travelling without a worry.

thanks lolo
i can take my horse to my placement and i plan not to event in my first year of uni :) , i am thinking that but my friends say i should have the beginning season

Then take the horse to the placement, go asap to get the most from it and when you've finished sell horse on. You'll get more money, because he'll have some decent results and then you have a nice little nest egg to take you travelling/ keep for uni stuff.
