Another 'which stallion' please?

Bit of a random one, especially as I don't have a pic - sorry

Friends mare is a tri-coloured Gypsy cob, I think quite well bred (Butterfly?), has lovely paces but not the prettiest head. 15hh but not too chunky. Nice markings but IMO could do with a bit of a stronger back end and to be slightly less downhill.

She would like to breed something a bit smaller, finer and more elegant for driving. I was a bit stumped! what do you reckon?

I thought maybe a hackney?

Have you looked into the rather super dutch carriage horses? They are are incredible and so elegant, they have a stud book and graded stallions and mares and the action is superb (if you like that sort of thing).

Old boss used her PSG trak stallion on her traditional vanner mare and it worked really well, nice sporty coloured but also a very strong horse.

Severnmiles - actually Trakehenrs make cracking combined driving horses, Karen Bassett took her 4 in hand to the World Champs, so might not be such a bad suggestion
