First of all the non rant bit - had another nice day and brought another salt lick, two girth sleeves and some treats.

Watched both the fredericks displays and both fantastic, lucinda is very competitive!

Right the rant part - during the two minute silence which I'm sorry no-one can say they didn't know it was happening, why then were there so many rude people who continued to talk and walk around, shame on you!! If you can't even give two minutes of your day to think about others who have lost their lives or had life changing injuries then you should be very ashamed of yourselves. Sorry it just makes me so cross and if I hadn't been on my OH's stand I may of decked someone

What a shame. Some people can be very thoughtless. I always maintain the two minute silence, wherever I am, both on the 11th November and the nearest Sunday. In fact on Thursday I happened to be out hacking, and stopped my horse on the verge and he stood beautifully for me.

I guess many people just don't really understand what Remembrance is any more, or don't feel it it relevant to them. How wrong they are as without the sacrifices of those in WW1, WW2 and indeed the conflicts of today, our country and lives would be very different.

in the area we were in they didn't say and we didn;t realise it was on until we walked into the lobby and saw everyone standing so we stood as well in silence (was about half way through)
Then this group of people came and walked through and saw every one stood randomly dotted about and started talking really loudly saying "do you think people are waiting for someone?" "hmmm maybe they are queing for something?" and then one person walked up to my mum and said "excuse me what are you waiting for?" my mum was like "ummm 2 min silence?"
she whispered "ohh sorry!!!" and shuffled but carried on her way, i would have thought after my mum saying that she would have at least stopped and carried on the silence until the end.

Just sheer ignorance usually - I always honour it - but you do also have to bear in mind that some people do not honour the silence and their wishes should also be respected.

I live in an army town, and during the two minutes silence, there were still squaddies bimbling around Tescos talking away, completely oblivous to the fact that most of the shop was at a standstill.
