Being bored stiff as still chair bound, I was browsing youtube again and found this one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYSE9uDmMQ8&mode=related&search=

What strikes me is even though the video evidence is showing such a fast kill the numpty of a narrator is disagreeing with the 'fast, clean kill' method.

Are my eyes decieving me or are those hounds dispatching the foxes quickly and humanely?

Or do all of you do-gooder antis still prefer the snare?

Yes, a bit curious, Seven. The footage seems to be SUPPORTING hunting when the narrator is saying other. Also, another link came up showing a fox being mauled by two hounds with a voice-over telling them to stop (unsuccessfully). Obviously not a hunt, so what was it? Antis setting two hound look-alikes onto a mangy fox or what?

''got distracted for a moment and it was over''

Beaufort,

Why are you surprised. The hunting community has always maintained that the kill was very quick.

But you prefer the slower and more painful method of pest control that is snaring, don't you?

I don't know whether that was a hunt, very unusual to have just two hounds on it and no sound of other hounds or huntsman blowing or calling/pushing on! You and I both know thats not normal hunting. Also like someone in the comments bit mentions, if that cameraman really cared for that fox he could have easily saved it by dropping his camera and holding the hounds by the scruffs until the fox had fled. The hounds were totally confused as they were 'doing their job' but being called off of it, if left to their own devices they would have killed it very quickly like the above video.

There is a much clearer version of the video which M_M provided us with the link a few months back.

Interesting too how we are constantly being told our 'ragged around the neck' theory is wrong/lies when those two hounds clearly show thats exactly what they do, also no blood or guts anywhere.....how disappointing for the antis!

My simple point is that it's difficult to judge the merits of foxhunting on the basis of a 20-second video, where each scene lasts a couple of seconds.

I hope you're in a better mood now. You were getting quite punchy yesterday.

Strange really that 2 hounds is the maximum you are allowed to use when flushing from cover. It clearly demonstrates that should the fox fail to leave cover or pop up in front of hounds, 2 hounds are insufficient to kill it swiftly.

Another victory for common sense!

I have seen that video before on the LACS website and they claim it was filmed undercover with a gun pack in wales. If it was a gun pack that they were with, no wonder the hounds didnt kill that fox very quick because the hounds that gun packs use are generally hounds that they have stolen/been given and they have breed themselves with other dogs. Theres a gun pack around my way and they use hounds, beagles, whippets, lurches and terriers to name a few. The 'pack' doesnt kill anything because anything that comes out of the maze/coverts are shot to [****] by about 20 shotguns. They have shot 55 foxes in r hunt country alone since september, no wonder we had a blank morning 2day. Trust me if that was one or two of my hounds, that fox wouldnt of lasted 5 seconds.

It makes me laugh how they inspect the fox at the end, of course its going to have a few teeth marks on it, how else does it get killed, licking it!

To me that is the best method around....at least it is quick and humane..
