Anti Cast Rollers

Whats your opinion? I have a mare on box rest, now just starting walk work but no turn out. She loves rolling but is getting cast, as she is in due to a small chip fracture I am worried about this.
Have heard that these rollers can be damaging????
Any other ideas?

You can buy special rubber wall mats to go round the lower half of the stable walls which allegedly gives the horse grip if it starts to get cast. No idea on anti cast rollers but I'd be wary in case the horse manages to roll over regardless and then ends up doubly in trouble.

I knew a horse who got cast whilst wearing an anti-cast roller, it made a right mess of his back. I'd steer clear and use big banks.

We bought anti cast strips for a gelding who was always getting cast, kicking big chunks out of his stable and putting his back out.
