Does anyone use these with a trailer?

Never had a snaking issue but after a serious accident my confidence has plummeted so wanted a bit of extra safety

I drive a 2009 ML350 and tow an IW505.

Thank all :)

I've never used one before but since the accident any movement of the trailer and I panic! (A lorry hit my trailer causing it to flip with my mare inside)

Can I be rude and hassle you for some info lol? How much alteration did the towbar need to fit that (mine is a company car so have to be careful). Can you reverse with it on? Did you get t fitted from a trailer company? All the ones I've spoken to seek reluctant to fit them but not sure why. Does the trailer feel different with it on or does it only activate when snaking (if that makes sense). Thanks! :)

Mine was fitted by a local trailer company
My tow bar has 2 sets of fittings for tow ball , when i bought it (kia sorrento) it was on top setting , trailer felt bouncy , when anti sway bar was fitted the trailer company had to move the tow ball down to bottom which i think made it feel more stable anyway ( hope that makes sense )
No problem reversing with it on
I have been towing for years but anti sway bar makes me feel a bit more confident
Hope that helps ☺

Hi, I replied to your thread about this, and I think said that it was tricky to fit. If your trailer dealer has not done many perhaps that was why they were reluctant? Mine was fitted by Towsure, our yard had many people with trailers using them, and I can't think of another drawback.

As Trectastic says, it gives a whole new stable feeling to the trailer. It is stable both for snaking and also for pitching if the horse has a kick.

ETA, ours was also on a company car, and it cause no issues, as when all is said and done you could remove/ replace the towbar when time came to hand it back. It was all approved anyway.

I'm going to contact my trailer dealership today :)

Fitted this won't affect the warranty on my jeep will it???

I believe Michen tried the trailer dealership for her trailer and they were less than keen. Towsure, or another seller of the device, on the other hand, fit them all the time.

I would imagine you would be safer to contact Jeep to double check the warranty. It s many years ago, but I seem to recollect it was a plate that fitted behind the towbar, but it had to be the right height for a laden trailer, and fitting it was tricky.

As our tow car was a company car for HSBC, and they are a set of rule following bankers, I know it was fully looked into and approved. But, for your own peace of mind I would get the spec from the seller, and contact Jeep.

Once the faff is done, the actual day to day use is easy. A few seconds when hitching up.
