Antibacterial gel

Has anyone heard of an antibacterial gel that you use after a foot abscess that hardens after application and protects the sole before the shoe goes back on? My vet mentioned it but didn't know the name

I use kerotex hoof putty which is available from some saddlers, it comes in a tin and is infused with anti bacterial substance, it's like a wax, very messy but effective, you have to heat it up, but not too much, to soften it then apply it and let it harden.
