Antibiotics - long course plus side effects?

Hi

Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a long term course of antibiotics and possible side effects (apart from very smelly droppings)

My mare had five days of penicillin jabs then 10 days of twice a day of noridine, now on 10 days of 1 a day noridine sachets

I have noticed her droppings are quite loose and her glands under her chin are up a bit

She seems pretty happy in herself still

Any thoughts? Should I be worried? And is it worth using some sort of gut balancer? She has 6 days left of the one a day course

Shouldn't be any side effects - long courses are mainly those inxs of 6-8weeks.
I'd defo stay on the probiotics though - some feeds are even impregnated with them these days and may be a good choice...the propaste (5mls daily for 6days syringe) is good in the short term I use it a lot and you could get a couple more tubes...
