There have been a lot of negative posts on here about people who share yards with you etc so this is the antidote to that...

Tell me something nice (no matter how small) that someone has done for you this week??

Mine? A friend came to see me to day to see if I'd go with a hack with her at the weekend... I was out on a hack so whilst she was waiting for me she mucked out the shetlands and flattened the muck heap off for me... How nice is that?

My sharer picked me and mini-nut up to go see my horse which I haven't seen since Christmas due to mini-nut. (OH has the car for work). Mini-nut even had a little sit on! Couldn't resist. ;0) I'd be lost without her!

My friend got the horses in for me on Saturday because they looked miserable waiting at the gate in the rain and she was already wet so it made no difference to her but I could stay tucked up at home in front of the fire. (Actually I was out walking the dog so I was wet too, but she didn't know that and it did save me a trip)

I have one I have done for someone else (helped my friend with a horse purchase over the weekend involving many many hours driving across the country!) and one being done for me...my OH is coming with me in the pitch dark tonight to open field gates into next field so that my girls have an extra field to play in tomorrow...field is a veritable mud bath at the gateways and I won't have time to do it in the morning before work with the stables/chickens to do as well! Must admit, not quite as good as someone mucking out for me and flattening my muck heap though!

I've had a rubbish week and today a rubbish driving lesson and at the horses while talking to my friend I had a bit of a breakdown sobs and snot included so she helped me fill my last haynets, let me get it all out of my system and drove me home and kept me company till I had cheered up a bit again bless her. I feel a bit better now I've had a good cry and by the end she had me laughing again :)

Our landy broke down last week, and the other livery lent me her 4 x 4 !!! You cannot beat that can you.

Since all the drama when I arrived, a livery has gone, and it is now the nicest yard I have ever been on. :D

1) My wonderful trainer rode G for me Sunday afternoon because I was feeling pooey

2) A lovely lady at BD training refused to believe G is a welsh cob and said she was a stunning colour and very smart

3) Genie let me get a picture of her looking kind of happy!

My Mum came and helped me to poo-pick the fields at the weekend which was very nice of her as it was rather cold and very wet!

about a year and a half ago a lady moved her horses to my yard- did not know her. now we are great friends, always round each others houses, i help her out and she always returns the favor. last night she put in some extra tape fencing we needed in the dark after work so it would be ready for the morning turnout and this weekend her husband is going to help me build a shed!

What a lovely idea for a thread! I had a message from a fellow livery telling me the yard fairy had been and my horses were all mucked out and tucked up in their PJs. I'd had a rubbish day at work and it was weeing with rain. She keeps doing lovely things like that and is an absolute superstar

Fellow livery volunteered to bring mine in this weekend to save me going back up: I've been ill, and car has died, so am bussing it everywhere. Round trip of twenty miles, including a lot of walking, so really appreciate not having to do this in the dark :)

Had a crappy day Saturday was tearful at work and missed the bus to the stables (don't drive yet) OH borrowed his brothers car (his was written off in an accident on the way home from the stables!) came to get me (he came bearing apples for Red) and when I get home he had already put veggies on before he left and made us scampi and steak! Also had a box of chocolates for me :)

The lovely farmer brought me a round bale of hay all the way up the glen, even though he is really short staffed and very busy. It saves me so much time instead of filling up bags of hay 3 miles down the road!

The lady I hack out with left me a birthday card outside my stable.

And pretty much every Sunday someone brings cake up to share. This week we had homemade cake from one livery, bought cake from another and sweets from a livery's sharer. :-D

Lol! That reminds me, last summer my husband became known as the ragwort fairy!

Dad finally got around to fixing the yard brush again) that he has been insisting hes fixing for the last month...it broke again within the first five minutes so he cleaned the yard with a shovel while i was out riding.......a very big achievement

I'm on a cracking wee yard where there are frequently fairies who sort pony whilst I am on shift. I don't get to return this often enough for my liking due to shifts and extra study for work at the mo :(.

After 4 years as an Ambulance Emergency Medical Technician, I'm now doing a year-long course to qualify as a Paramedic (eek). Someone in the group I met at Uni in November set up a FB page - now that exam pressure is on, the page is daily updated by people sharing links to resources for revision, and full of encouragement to one another. We may be from stations all over Scotland but there is certainly no feeling of being in this on my own!

I went to the yard the other day after work feeling knackered n rubbish and my lovely friend had mucked out my boy and did him a lovely bed with big banks :) I was so chuffed I could of cried!! she also helps me every single day by either bringing in or turning out depending on what shift im on at work! I also bring her lovely boy in or turn out when she needs me to shes an absolute godsend!!

My husband retired last week, and since then he has mucked out every day! The day before yesterday my horse lost a shoe and my husband did no more than call the farrier, load my horse up and drive him an hour away to have the shoe fixed while I was at work.
Especially impressive as my husband hates my horse!!!!

Suffering with severe sciatica at the moment, no riding for at least another two weeks, so my friend took my boy out for a jaunt round the roads - she even put all his hi-viz on as she knows I am fanatic about being seen. I was very grateful!

My friend and I share jobs at the yard, I tend to do mornings and she does every other afternoon and does all the poo picking. My gelding has had an abscess so off games, she offered me the use of her horse, she arranged to borrow the old happy hacker on the yard and we went out for a lovely hack in the sunshine on Sunday! Was fab! We work really well together so always know what to do to cheer each other up!!

I am flooded with niceness. I currently have a leg in pot. 3 of my friends (and fellow liveries) have been sending me Arnie updates (including how many hugs and carrots he has had). The YO and one of the liveries took me out for dinner to catch up on the world and my Mum has been taking me down so I can pat him. The apprentice on the yard has been riding and looking after Arnie as if he were her own. Full of love here! :)

Good thread. I've been well fed up at my yard recently, it hasn't been as nice a place on and off for the last year or so, so this is a good thread to remind me that it isn't that bad there!

Was rushing around trying to get chores done and fit in a ride in with a yard mate before work, busy doing one horse, about to start second horse's chores to find that she had already done it all (she is much faster than I)

My horse had to stay in this morning for farrier, my other yard mate allowed her horse to stay in and keep mine company because she doesn't like being in on her own.

Also, another livery offered to turn them out after the farrier had been because I was working away today and couldn't get back to do it myself

Another livery regularly brings in my boy for me and if my girl is left out alone will grab her too, that's really nice of her and I appreciate it, takes so much pressure off me in the evening.

What, shouty lady?

My friend gave me Saturday off-huge bonus and then mucked out for me yesterday!
