Antidote to rants'r' us. Say something nice.

Pappy Sparkle is getting a proper drain fitted for the washbox/hay soaking area :)

PS organised Figs times for Thursday, helped me trim Fig yesterday and gave me a lesson tonight even though it was *freezing*

A lady I work with plonked a big bag of carrots for Fig on my desk yesterday, wouldn't let me pay her for them but insisted I send her a pic of him nomming them!

Oh and Pappy Sparkle de iced my car for me this morning and yesterday too.

I share fields/yards with a friend and it's fab. We meet every morning to feed our stupid amount of ponies, poo pick then sit down to have a coffee/hot choc and biccies. Ponies are then fed again in the pm. In times of sickness we cover for each other. I had a sick bug recently and all my ponies were cared for. She's now ill with flu so I've been doing them. There's never an arguement about money, we buy things for the yard, share food bills etc. She got a new wheelbarrow recently as one of ours got damaged so in return I paid for our gas heater and cylinder. It's the little touches that make a friendship special.

Oh I like threads like this! Makes a change to hear nice things. I'm sorry but I have nothing positive to add mind as it's been a rubbish week so far but I have been running the sister around though as her car is poorly, so that's a nice thing :)

Arrived at the yard tonight to find madam with a wound. Fellow livery was just about to leave but stood and held the torch while I cold hosed and checked it wasn't serious and I had everything I needed before she left.

nikkimariet, just wondered if you and Prince33Sp4rkle are related or work together or something, just noticed you have the same blog site on facebook and both have a father/pappy sparkle :)

Lovely lady at the yard got my 3 Tinies in for me as they were standing wet and miserable at the gate. Fed them, took their rugs off and hung them up to dry. Dropped me a text. Magic! She's a superstar.

They are sisters :)

One of the liveries at my yard took my and my lad out in her trailer for a nice long hack on Sunday :) Our hacking isn't accessible at the moment due to the rain so it was great to get out properly rather than up and down the yard drive!
Also my YO deserves a mention just for being so great!

My mum has taken on a third horse (even though she finds two hard in winter, living out) so I can have something to ride, and is arranging to find a new home for her pony so there's room for the new boy. And she hasn't complained about all the poo picking while she still has three, or that I can't get up to help her during the week. My mummy is fab :)
(New boy pics to follow at some point!)

Horseless too- well, horses on farm in Cape Town, whilst I am nearly 900 miles away in Johannesburg. But super wonderful fiancé not only offers to pay for my flights to visit but this weekend, after moving into our new house, I got new tables, chairs, coffee tables, a stunning kettle and a brilliant new vacuum cleaner (I like vacuum cleaners!)

My horsey winter has been by far the easiest I've ever had, largely due to the fact I now have a really great, cooperative grazing farmer landlord who has bent over backwards to be helpful. My horses are happier and healthier for it, and so am I by about a million times, in comparison to the last few winters, which were truly awful for reasons I won't go into as it would defeat the purpose of this thread!
I heave a sigh of relief, still, every time I think about it.

since i moved out of the Livery i was in and took my horse home (where we have no school), my parents (esp my dad, who isnt horsey) have been making a real effort to take me for extra lessons so i can keep Billys exercise up! (drive the trailer, not pay for lessons) Im hoping to take my trailer test this year so i can be more independant.

Sometimes its 10pm when we get home so its really nice of them to take me.

Feeling very negative recently, its taken me ages to think of something good to post! I guess its good to think of the positive things that happen for a change.

What a lovely thread - good idea.

I got a text from my horse this morning (!) as my friend was putting him out - just to tell me to have a good day. Nothing much to it, but it was lovely to hear from him!

I'm lucky to be on a lovely yard where everyone looks out for one another and helps out. I'm in a situation with two friends where we have board listing when we will do morning duty and evenings too. That way you can still come up but your horse will be mucked out etc by re person whose day it is! Works very well for us

I went through a rough patch breaking up with my husband last year and my friends at this yard got me through it. I knew there was always someone there to help with my mare if I couldn't make it to the yard and I was supported and cheered up along the way!

It's mostly women on our yard and most wk ends someone will have done some baking and there will be a note on board to help yourself!

Its a true DIY yard but I think it should be DIWHFYF... Which means Do It With Help From Your Friends :)

I'm feeling a bit sad now after reading this, I'm at home so it's just my horses and my horsey friends are all miles away so I don't see them or have any hacking buddies and no one to help me :( boo BUT the only reason I have my loan horse is because I was going to buy him from my old YO but we got the opportunity to move out of work accommodation, and move into our dream home so I couldn't afford to buy him :( She told me I could have him on loan until I can afford to buy him later this year which was amazing as she doesn't loan horses out as a rule to anyone. she also sent my 2yr olds best buddy with us so he wouldn't be left alone in the field! She is an absolute star!!

Ahh that's made me feel better thinking about how good she is :)

A lady at my yard gave me something I wanted that she was selling for free because I let her use my trailer when she needed to take her horse to the vets for an emergency.

I love my yard :)

Last weekend I turned out and mucked out my sisters horse as I knew she'd been out the night before. Later that day she helped groom and tack up Elvis for my lesson. :)

Not had anything nice done for me but this week we are emptying our feed room as a livery has a third horse she needs bringing in, its been on loan at another yard and that one is closing. So feed room which happens to be a stable is being gutted, all shelving and rug racks being taken down. God know where we are going to put it all! Hope they appreciate it as my dad said! They're nice people so sure they will.

I have been gifted the most amazing horse from a complete stranger! Very odd situation but worked out very well for me! :-) Also my OH did horseslast weekend when I wasnt well and he teally isnt horsey. Then finally my lovely friend who has been looking after my herd all summer whilst I had my second baby. Dont know how I would have managed without her!
