Antihistamines banned by FEI?

Hi all :) I am potentially getting a new horse to ride at the weekend on loan (my boy is off work) and she has competed unaffiliated previously. Only problem is she's got a pollen allergy so has antihistamines every day as issued by her vet. Doesn't seem to bother her.

My only concern is I want to jump BS and BE with her, and as far as I'm aware antihistamines are banned by the FEI. Anyone have any suggestions of legal substances that may do the same job?

I don't think there is if I'm honest. Mine has to have inhalers issued by his vet due to his pollen, dust and mould allergies, so we just do RC level stuff instead. Infuriating as he quite happily does 1.20m courses clear rounds but can't jump BS because of his meds. If he doesn't have the inhalers though, he can't manage 75cm...

I think most antihistamines are controlled rather than banned so can be used with veterinary authorisation.

'It may be possible to obtain a National Equine Therapeutic Use Exemption (“NETUE”) for a Controlled Medication Substance in advance of competing, but an NETUE will never be given for a Banned Substance. Similarly there are no threshold levels for Banned Substances.'
 
Thanks all, knew I'd get an answer here. Further research by myself has suggested (although correct me if I'm wrong) that they are controlled substances but cannot be used at competitions and if tested will disqualify and fine the rider. A veterinary note will only show the testers that the horse has had the medication and it should be out of the system if the horse is to compete, which is obviously impossible when on long term antihistamines. The horse wears a nose net already and I have seen no symptoms of the allergy.
 
If you complete the NETUE form and it is accepted then although there are no guarantees you can still compete with your horse on the antihistamines without being penalized.
