There’s something about Red that makes her irresistible to males. As it would be frowned upon to kick the owners in the balls I had to make do with keeping her by my feet and kicking the dogs.
Even when sweeping after the drive two of them stopped work to go after her.
As she also has to travel with them I want to put something around her bum to deter them. It can’t be too strong smelling so the owners notice as no doubt I’ll be a bad person. Apparently it’s my fault anyway as she is spayed.
Any suggestions?

I am going to take her for a check up, I was going to a couple of weeks ago but didn’t do it.

The big girl, who is spayed, has an irresistible vulva which apparently male dogs need to lick obsessively and are firmly discouraged from doing so by me. The owners of the dogs don't think it is a problem so I need to be firm with them too. The vet told me there was probably uterine or ovarian tissue left behind at spay.

There may be other causes so probably just as well to get vet check.

Her spay was very difficult , as she had had multiple litters and two caesareans there was a lot of scarring. I know she bled a lot.
I’ll gather her and a pee sample up and see what they say.

Just an update, Scout is my measure of interest, he is not at all interested in a day to day basis but when she’s been shooting and he hasn’t he’s very excited. Sniffy and intrusive, dribbling and pee licking. When he’s been too he is too tired to bother! Maybe stress/excitement plays a part?

Well it works. I haven’t taken her to the vets but today I was travelling round with the man with the two rampant dogs. I gave Red a squirt of bitch spray around her nether regions before we left home and she was ignored nearly all day.
After a lot of water work she started to become interesting after the third drive.
So far as I could tell any dog that sniffed her could still find a pheasant afterwards!

I may give this a try. Outside dogs love to sniff her, as a result she's getting narky and a bit snappy (she's in between seasons, due Jan). I've been popping her on the lead when guns dogs are nearby as someone had a right go at me for her snapping at his (totally useless) bitch the other day. F was on the lead at the time so I replied that perhaps he snould be mindful of where his dog was at all times. That time I was putting birds in the locker on the back of the gun bus and we were on a narrow track, so crowded. Now I put her back in the car in those situations. I don't want to end up with a snappy dog but I'm starting to be concerned. However I actually agree with her that her private parts are for her to decide who sniffs them. She's absolutely fine with all in our pack.

I think it bothers me more than Red! She’s so passive she just takes it. It really bugs me. I do put mine away if I can but I don’t use my own vehicle so am reliant on other peoples access. And often they have randy dogs too!
