There's a couple of facebook groups which might help, just for heavy harness.

And try Phil Goodchild the harness maker, he loves chatting old harness.

Price wise - Is it decorated / show / working? What sort of style - westcountry, midlands, Liverpool area? Have you got just the set or is it including brasses / swingers / plumes? What sort of size - old shire harness can be too small for modern beasts!

(I got very into decorated harness when I had my clyde but I'm not an expert by any means!)

A friend recently sold a full Cornish decorated set for almost £2k and a vintage show Cornish set made £1.2k through a dealer early this spring.

I paid roughly £1,000 for a scottish Clyde set of approx 110 years old but that was brought in pieces over years and didn't include a collar.

If you're selling, don't underprice it! Reading carriage sales have an annual heavy horse harness section and may have some past years results available.
