just had vet up to see abby, after she had another wee nosebleed, he put a big tube up her nose and had a gd poke about. she was sedated and was an absolute angel.

so what he found was a small anurism(sp) and he said it might of been there for quite a while. and that they might need to do a small operation to try an fix it. but he said he doesn't want to rush into surgery if its not goin to cause anymore problems. he also said she might hav a bit of an allergy to dust since her nose has been quite runny, so if the horses have to be in a night for much longer she'll need to be put on shavings. and i'm not allowed to ride

i have been given an inhaler and antibiotics, trouble is abby refuses to eat her dinner till the other 2 horses are in, is there any tricks of the trade for giving her her antibiotics so that i don't have to bring in the other 2 all the time???

and does anyone have any experience of horses having anurisms??

I used a golden syrup sandwich when my boy needed steriods every day for yonks. 1 sllice bread, squirt some syrup on it from a squeezy bottle, add the powder/tabs/whatever, fold the bread in half, offer it to ned just outside the field gate. Not sure about the inhaler though. Won't she have to come in for that?

yeh the inhalers just like a human inhaler that has to be sprayed up her nose which should be fine, she'll only munch on hay till the other 2 come in, then once there all settled she'll happily eat her dinner.
